Dress Code Policy and Regulations

For Recreational & Professional Level Classes

At Fantasy Dance, we are committed to fostering an environment that promotes discipline, uniformity, and safety. Our dress code is thoughtfully designed to ensure that students can move freely, perform at their highest potential, and uphold a standard of professionalism in every class. Proper attire is essential not only for comfort but also for maintaining a cohesive and respectful learning atmosphere.

Parents are required to adhere to the following dress code guidelines to ensure their child is appropriately prepared for class. To simplify the process, all necessary attire and accessories can be conveniently purchased through the FDStore. This ensures that all students meet our standards and are equipped with high-quality, approved apparel.

Creative Movement Classes (Ages 2-5):

  • Girls:

    • Attire: Pink leotard and pink skirt. White or pink tights are required to provide coverage and freedom of movement.

    • Footwear: Pink ballet slippers to support developing foot muscles and provide proper grip.

    • Hair: Tightly secured hair (e.g., bun, braid, or ponytail) to keep hair away from the face for unobstructed movement.

  • Boys:

    • Attire: Black leotard or fitted black shirt and black elastic pants for ease of movement.

    • Footwear: Black ballet slippers for comfort and proper foot alignment.

    • Hair: Short hair must be neatly groomed. If long, tie it back securely.

Ballet Classes:

  • Girls:

    • Attire: Black leotard paired with a black wrap skirt. Beige or pink tights must be worn to maintain a polished and professional appearance.

    • Footwear: Pink ballet slippers with proper elastic sewn in for support and to avoid slipping.

    • Hair: Hair must be tightly secured in a neat bun to prevent distractions and maintain a classic ballet look.

  • Boys:

    • Attire: Black or white fitted shirt and black elastic pants to allow for clean lines and freedom of movement.

    • Footwear: Black ballet slippers.

    • Hair: Neatly groomed or tied back if long.

Contemporary Classes:

  • Attire: Girls are required to wear black leotards with convertible tights, fitted leggings, or fitted pants. Boys should wear a black shirt paired with black fitted pants. Loose or baggy pants are not allowed as they can hinder movement and conceal body alignment.

  • Footwear: Half-sole shoes to provide flexibility and support during floorwork and dynamic movements.

  • Hair: Hair must be tightly tied back and away from the face (bun, ponytail, or braid).

Jazz Classes:

  • Attire: Girls must wear black leotards, fitted leggings, or fitted pants/shorts. Boys are required to wear a black shirt and fitted pants. Baggy pants are prohibited to ensure proper visibility of body alignment during movements.

  • Footwear: Black jazz shoes for boys and tan jazz shoes for girls are requierd for safe turns and jumps.

  • Hair: Hair must be securely tied back to prevent obstruction of vision.

Hip-Hop Classes:

  • Attire: Black baggy pants and a relaxed black shirt create a casual yet professional hip-hop aesthetic.

  • Footwear: White dance sneakers for proper traction and style.

  • Hair: Hair must be securely tied back to avoid interference during high-energy movements.

General Guidelines:

  1. Hair: For all classes, hair must be tightly secured away from the face (bun, ponytail, or braid) to ensure safety and focus. This is non-negotiable.

  2. Jewelry: No jewelry (e.g., earrings, necklaces, bracelets) is allowed during class to avoid injury or distractions.

  3. Labeling: All shoes, tights, and clothing should be labeled with the child’s name to prevent loss or mix-ups.

  4. Compliance: Proper dress code is mandatory. Students who fail to meet the dress code may not be allowed to participate in class until the issue is resolved.
