About Fantasy Dance
Founded in 2002 by ballet master and choreographer Alla Kegulskiy, Fantasy Dance became a premier school dedicated to nurturing talent and fostering a love for the performing arts. For over 23 years, we have inspired children of all ages through a diverse range of classes, including Ballet, Jazz, Folk, Contemporary, Ballroom, Hip-Hop, Children’s Choreography, Gymnastics, Art Classes, and many more.
Throughout the years, Fantasy Dance School has earned multiple awards and accolades, cementing its reputation as a leading dance academy in the Bay Area. More than just a place to train, we provide an environment of passion, discipline, and excellence where generations of students have found a second home.
More Than Dance – A Complete Educational Experience
In 2019, Fantasy Dance expanded its vision, transforming into an educational center that offers an array of specialized programs—all under one roof. Today, we provide 250+ classes per week, covering everything from dance (Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip-Hop, Contemporary) to Tumbling, Gymnastics, TNT, Art, Preschool Classes, Pre-K Morning Classes, and a dynamic After-School Program—and so much more!
FDS Gymnastics & Arts Expansion
In 2021, Fantasy Dance took a bold step forward, launching FDS Gymnastics—a state-of-the-art gymnastics center designed to provide professional training in tumbling, artistic gymnastics, and acrobatics. With the addition of this large, fully equipped gymnasium, students now have access to top-tier gymnastics instruction alongside their dance training.
In addition, our art program has flourished, offering students the opportunity to explore their creativity through various artistic mediums. Whether through dance, gymnastics, or visual arts, we believe in cultivating well-rounded, confident, and expressive individuals.

Fantasy Dance School – A Journey of Growth & Excellence
2002 – The Beginning
Fantasy Dance Studio was founded in Mountain View by Alla Kegulskiy, starting with just four students. As the passion for dance spread, in just nine months, enrollment quickly grew to 65 students, leading the studio to rent multiple locations throughout Mountain View and Palo Alto to accommodate its expanding community.
2005 – Establishing a Permanent Home
Fantasy Dance Studio established its first permanent home, opening its own dedicated studio with a single dance room to provide a stable environment for its growing student base.
2007 – Launch of the First Overnight Summer Camp
Fantasy Dance School introduced its first overnight summer camp, offering students an immersive experience filled with dance, creativity, and fun. Since then, the camp has become an annual summer tradition, bringing students together for unforgettable learning and bonding experiences.
2009 – Expanding to Meet Demand
With increasing demand, Fantasy Dance Studio expanded within the same building, adding a second dance studio to better serve its students.
2014 – A Second Location in Los Gatos
Recognizing the need for more space and accessibility, Fantasy Dance Studio opened a second location in Los Gatos, allowing more students across the Bay Area to experience its high-quality programs.
2017 – Community Recognition
Fantasy Dance Studio was honored with the Mountain View Small Business Excellence Award, recognizing its impact on the local arts community.
2018 – Best Dance Class Award
Fantasy Dance School was awarded the "Best Dance Class" in the Silicon Valley Region – Silver Medal, celebrating its outstanding instruction and dedication to the performing arts.
2019 – A New State-of-the-Art Facility
Both the Mountain View and Los Gatos locations were relocated and merged into one state-of-the-art, 10,000-square-foot educational and performing arts facility.
This new center was designed with:
✔️ Four professional dance studios
✔️ An art classroom
✔️ A kitchen
✔️ A full-functioning gymnastics and tumbling gymnasium for Fantasy Dance School's expanding programs
That same year, Fantasy Dance School was recognized again, receiving the "Best Dance Class" in the Silicon Valley Region – Bronze Medal.
2020 – Overcoming Challenges
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic and the challenges of stay-at-home orders, Fantasy Dance School never stopped providing education and inspiration to its students:
✔️ March 19, 2020 – Online video lessons were made available to all students.
✔️ March 23, 2020 – Virtual classes began via Zoom, with daily staff meetings to ensure smooth learning.
✔️ September 21, 2020 – In-person classes resumed with outdoor studios, including a custom-built outdoor dance floor for safe instruction.
Fantasy Dance School was awarded:
🏆 "Best Dance Class" in the Silicon Valley Region – Silver Medal
🏆 "2020 Family Favorite Award" – Best of Silicon Valley
2021 – A Year of Transformation
✨ April 2021 – Fantasy Dance Studio officially transformed into Fantasy Dance School, marking a significant evolution. Along with this transformation came:
✔️ The launch of FDS Gymnastics, a large gymnastics department offering tumbling, artistic gymnastics, and acrobatics.
✔️ The opening of the Art Department, providing visual arts classes for students to explore their creativity beyond movement.
🏆 February 27, 2021 – The school built an outdoor stage to host its first outdoor concert, "What Life Should Be."
🏆 June 19, 2021 – A second outdoor concert, "We Are the Rainbow After the Storm," celebrated resilience and artistic expression.
🏆 September 2021 – The After-School Program "Rising Stars" was launched to offer structured enrichment programs for students.
Fantasy Dance School was proudly recognized with the "2021 Best of Mountain View Award" from The Voice, affirming its status as a leader in performing arts education.
2022 – Expanding Early Childhood Education
✨ Fantasy Dance School expanded further by introducing its Pre-K Morning Program, “Rising Stars.”
This program was designed to provide young children with a fun, educational, and creative start to their day, combining dance, gymnastics, art, and early learning fundamentals in a structured and engaging environment. With a focus on movement, coordination, and cognitive development, this program helps children build confidence, social skills, and a strong foundation for future learning.
2023 – Fantasy Dance Troupe Becomes a Non-Profit Organization
✨ February 2023 – Fantasy Dance Troupe officially separated from Fantasy Dance School and became an independent non-profit organization.
The troupe, known for its dedication to performance, artistic excellence, and community engagement, now operates as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, allowing it to expand opportunities for students through scholarships, fundraising, and outreach programs.
2024 – Recognized Among the Best
🏆 Fantasy Dance School was nominated for and received the "TOP PRO Award" from Lessons.com, being recognized as the Best Dance Classes in Mountain View, California, for 2024. This prestigious honor highlights FDS's excellence, dedication, and impact in the dance and performing arts community.
